School Uniform
-
Introduction
We believe that school uniforms provide a sense of belonging for our children. The wearing of a school uniform can reduce peer pressure for the latest clothes and help children feel settled in our school.
Our school policy is for all children who attend Field End Junior School to wear our school uniform both in school and when participating in school organised events, unless advised otherwise.
Parents and carers must ensure that their child’s uniform is clearly labelled and be in good repair. The school will not accept responsibility for any lost uniform or personal items and be in good repair.

Hair, Jewellery, Nail Varnish and Make Up
Hair
Long hair must be tied back at all times and short hair is to be kept neat with no shapes or writing cut into it (hair or eyebrows). Hair should not be dyed.
Jewellery
For health and safety reasons jewellery is NOT allowed in school with the exception of plain studs in pierced ears and small objects of religious significance. All earrings must be removed for PE. Parents considering piercing their child’s ears should endeavour to have this done at the beginning of the summer holidays so that earrings can be removed for PE. All newly pierced ears will need to be taped for PE either by the parent at home or the child in school. Parents should provide their child tape for this as school staff are not permitted to remove earrings. A wristwatch may be worn but must also be removed for PE. Smart watches are not permitted in any circumstances.
Nail Varnish and Make Up
Nail varnish and make up are NOT permitted in school. If worn, paretns/carers will be contacted and asked to remove it for the next day.
